About

I am a licensed clinical social worker and trauma clinician, specializing in PTSD and EMDR. I have been an invited guest on numerous local radio shows discussing topics ranging from grief to anxiety and trauma. I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees through California University of Pennsylvania where I earned a bachelors degree in arts and a masters degree in social work. I have worked in a number of different capacities over the years including inpatient behavioral health, long-term structured care, therapeutic support staff, and partial hospitalization programs. I currently work in outpatient behavioral health.

I struggled with unexplained infertility for two and a half years before finally conceiving my son in late 2014. As I write this I am the proud mother of a healthy almost 7 month old little man. This blog is written to offer support, understanding and hopefully a little bit of humor to anyone who is currently struggling to start a family of their own, or navigating the often crazy world of new mommyhood and everything in between. I chose to name the blog The other day while I was pumping...  because I do all of my writing during my pumping sessions.  I love to write and hope that my story can comfort and inspire other women who are currently searching for hope and the proverbial light at the end of the fallopian tube. I currently reside in Pennsylvania with my husband, Jim and son, Archer. When I'm not running around like mad being a mommy, wife, writer and social worker I... wait, that never happens. I am just busy loving life.
